15.07.19: Recognition at the Vorarlberger Holzbaupreis 2019

The Josefhof health facility received recognition in the category “Outside the country” at this year’s Vorarlberger Holzbaupreis:

“At a time when health insurance financing is becoming an increasingly sensitive issue and budget cuts are the order of the day, here they afford a modern, high-quality and ecologically compatible building. This was made possible by the creativity of the planners, who skilfully exploit and use the advantages of the modular timber construction method.”
(Jury statement)

Several terraced wooden blocks that blend into the hilly landscape form the body of the health facility for occupational disease prevention and smoking cessation, which is equipped with 120 barrier-free rooms. Planted atriums and spacious common rooms provide variety to the otherwise strictly gridded modular construction of the extensively glazed façade.
