Schruns Tschagguns Family Pool and Spa, Vorarlberg (Austria)

Both indoor and outdoor swimming pool lie parallel to the river Ill, a fact which interrelates the two different water surfaces. The centre of the elongated construction is formed by an open space which provides access to all facilities. Covered by a projection, it serves as a venue for different events. The design of the whole construction reminds of a table or stranded raft whose surface is occupied by functions with a different degree of publicity and transparency. In some areas the landscape flows through the building, in others the mountain scenery is “framed” by large windows.
